Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!

(Tek enjoys your poetic prowess)

Or, you know, a box set of DVDs. That's it, people. The votes are in and have been tabulated and the winner of the (what should be) Annual Jason Varitek Poetry Contest is...Aaron Bennett who penned the William Carlos Williams-inspired selection #2, narrowly beating out Jason Varitek's Sestina #45. Aaron is now the proud owner of The Essential Games of Fenway box set.

John Cheever once famously said "All literary men are Red Sox fans" and you have proven him correct. This little contest was fun but also reaffirmed my faith in our brains, as a fan base. Poetry and baseball. Two great tastes that taste great together!

So congratulations, Aaron! Enjoy!

Also, the Red Sox won because Josh Beckett hitched up his pitching pants and went to work. That was fun too.
